Freedom! Or so I thought.....

Well, on Wednesday of this week, I managed to escape into the outdoors! Mommy and the rest of the family still aren't sure how, and I'm not telling. Even though I get to go outside on the back porch to lay in the, it's still not the same as being able to romp in the grass, which is what I've been wanting. I've managed a few times before to make it out the front door to dive in the flower bed, but Mom always catches me and shoos me back into the garage. But this time I made it! The only problem is, it's not summer anymore. It was cold! I was out there for quite some time before they came to find me. Since I hide a lot anyway it took them a lil while to notice that I was gone. They were giving out treats and I never showed. They KNOW I don't miss my treat time! They notified Mom and once they realized I wasn't in the house Mom came outside to fine me. I didn't go too far. It was way to cold to be exploring, and it turned out to be scarier than I thought. I made it to the back yard and managed to hide underneath one of the storage sheds. I stayed there for a while, not sure exactly how long since I was scared I lost track of the time. Then I heard Mom's voice calling for me. She heard my collar jingle from all the things she hangs on it so was able to find where I was. But I was still to scared to come out. Mommy was so worried I could tell she was trying not to cry when she finally realized that I was still in the yard and not hurt. She worries. A lot. Papa shined the flashlight in my eyes and called for me too. They were crazy if they thought I was coming out. Papa went around to the side I was hiding by and made noises and banged on the walls and floor of the shed to try to scare me out. I finally got tired of the annoying sounds and ran out.... to under the other shed. After a moment I realized I didn't like it under there and opted for under the porch. I just wanted to hide. I didn't want them picking me up. So Granny blocked one of the exits while Mom crawled under the steps and through a hole in the lattice work to get to me. She must have really wanted me to come back in the house really bad. I tried, but she still caught me. She handed me up through the hole under the steps to Papa who took me in the house. My nerves were shot at this point, but it was good to be warm again. They gave me lots of treats to make up for it though! IT was fun, but I'm not sure if I want to try it again anytime soon.

Also, we seem to be moving downstairs with Uncle Carl and cousin Jason. I'd rather stay upstairs with Granny and Papa, but Mom is insistent. They have all been working (very loudly, I might add)on building another room down there for us so that Mom doesn't have to sleep in Papa and Granny's computer room anymore. So, it looks like we are staying here instead of moving back to Asheville after all. I'm glad, because I love it here. I hope we never move again. I have lots of play and hide room, lots of treats, and people that I actually tolerate here. I get to live with my Papa and see my Aunt Lissy almost every day. I do miss my Grandma though, since I haven't seen her in a long time. Mom says they will even be going to Asheville and bringing Mommy's things here soon.

Catnip Wishes,

~Luna~
